Happy Father's Day!

I want to wish all of the daddies out there a very Happy Father's Day!

Since both sets of our parents live here and we're getting ready to move and this is more than likely the last time we will be in town for Father's Day, Matt and I have spent the day with our own fathers instead of as a family.... This is Matt's last Father's Day with only one little boy. Hopefully, next year we can make our own Father's Day traditions!

Matt and Aiden at 2 months. We were still living in Alaska at the time.

I can't get over how little he was! OH my goodness... I'm going to have to learn how to do everything all over again!

Back from the Beach...

We had an absolutely amazing time at the beach this past week! Just got home. 7 hours in the car with a 3 year old and a 10 year old... Glad to be back!

We made plans to go to the beach at the last minute because we had to wait and see if we got the place we looked at in DC. (We did! And I'm really excited!) Anyway, we took my grandmother and little sister to the beach with us this year. We wanted to give my grandma a thank you present for taking care of Aiden for the past 3 years while I was in school.

Going to the beach has always been my favorite summer activity. I look forward to my week at the beach all year! The reasons that I love the beach have changed over the years... When I was little I liked to go to build sandcastles, play in the ocean, and swim in the pool. When I was a teenager, I liked to go to walk on the beach and check out the guys! Now, my favorite part of going to the beach is watching my little boy have fun. I think this was the my best beach trip yet!

Spending time in the ocean with Daddy:

At first, Aiden was pretty afraid of the waves...

Easing into the water...

Finally having fun!

After Aiden finally got used to the ocean, it was nearly impossible to keep him out of the water! There were lots of tide pools and one of his favorite things was taking water from the tide pools and pouring it on the dry sand to make "mud".

Surprisingly, Aiden didn't spend that much time playing with my grandmother or little sister. My sister made a couple of friends her age and spent most of her time with them and Matt, Aiden, and I spent most of our time together. Aiden learned how to swim in the pool using a noodle, but for some reason, I didn't take any pool pictures...
Playing with Mammy

Dancing in the Dark with Mandy

On our last day at the beach, a little boy let Aiden borrow his body board and Aiden spent a little more time out in the ocean.

And I did get a few pictures of me... Here I am at 27 weeks, 5 days:

And a family night out:

Aiden Funnies~ Quotes from Aiden

Matt never wears hats, but for some reason the other night he put one on before coming downstairs. I was loading the dishwasher and Aiden was playing in the living room. I heard him say, "Mommy, is that Daddy?" Pause. "Are you Daddy?" Matt started laughing and asked him if he didn't recognize his daddy with a hat on. Oh goodness!

We were driving to Bible School and Aiden was looking at a book in his carseat. He said, "I'm a big boy. I can talk really well. I can't read. But I'm still a big boy."

I haven't gotten to spend much time with my little guy this week. I've been putting in long hours in the lab trying to finish up my research so I can write my thesis. And then he goes to Bible school from 5:30-8:30, but I will get to spend plenty of time with him next week because we're going to the beach ! I'm really excited ~ even though I don't really look forward to shopping for maternity bathing suits...

A Spring Fest

Every spring, our city has a little festival with arts and crafts, music, food, and a kid's play area in the old downtown. Aiden and I went there today with my mom and sister. They had the kiddie area set up with tons of little games like a football toss, a bean bag throw, etc. After playing a game, the children got a card marked and when they filled up the card they got to pick out a small prize. Aiden and Mandy had a lot of fun playing there and it was FREE!

Aiden loved the bubble table. But he was ready to move on once he got splashed with the bubble solution.

He was really upset and was frantic about getting it cleaned off his arm. So obviously, the tatoo didn't work out very well either! As soon as he looked at it, he scrubbed it off!

I was really impressed by his throwing ability. The guy running the bean bag toss asked Aiden if he wanted to stand on a closer line, but he stayed where he was and managed to get all of 3 of his bean bags through a hole!

Playing "Plinko"

When he had played all of the games, Aiden picked out a purple plastic frog. He played with it for about three minutes and then it was forgotten...

After the games, Aiden got a snow cone. I requested that it be put in a cup to avoid the mess!

And we shared a funnel cake

The weather was perfect and we had a really good time. I was really proud of how Aiden behaved when we walked around and looked at the crafts. No whining about being carried or anything! But it wore him out and he took a 3 hour nap from 5-8. Eek! I just got him down for the night at 11:45 and now I'm exhausted!

25 Weeks

I just got back from the doctor and today was my glucose tolerance test. Bleh! That super sweet orange drink being the first thing I had all day made me morning sickness come back with a vengeance! I'm feeling a little better now though after having had breakfast.

I talked to my doctor today because I hadn't completely decided on having a repeat c-section. I had been leaning towards it, but it hadn't been definite. But my doctor said having a repeat would most likely be the best option for me. SO, depending on my health (I had preeclampsia with Aiden, but my bp is looking good so far), it looks like my c-section will be September 8,9, or 10. Since we're moving, it depends on the day that the hospital I will be going to at the time does scheduled c-sections. I hope I can make it that long~ Aiden was 11 days early and I would prefer to not have to go into labor and then have my c-section! But we shall see...
Here are a couple of pictures taken this weekend....

I'm not sure how many more pictures I'm going to take while pregnant. My dad is a photographer and I promised to let him take some at 30 weeks, but I think I'll call it quits after that. It may be my weight issues coming back, but I feel disgusting! I can't even look in the mirror anymore. I have gained way too much weight! And I've gained it all over in very unflattering places! I couldn't even believe the scale at the doctor's office today... Yikes!
